Learning outcomes

The student is able to:
- speak and understand Finnish in basic and familiar everyday situations
- write short and simple texts about familiar topics
- to use basic grammar structures

Target level: A 1.3 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Study book Kuparinen - Tapaninen: Oma suomi 1. Suomea aikuisille. Additional materials in Canvas.

Teaching methods

Implemented online. Individual studies in Canvas, contact lessons in Teams.

International implementation.

Student workload

5 credit points equals 135 hours of student's work. This consist on individual studies and group work and attending the contact lessons.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student has completed all three course assignments and hence shows level A1 (CEFR, see https://rm.coe.int/CoERMPublicCommonSearchServices/DisplayDCTMContent?documentId=090000168045bb5 2).

Content scheduling

Chapters 2-4 in Oma suomi: utilizing basic verbs in telling about everyday routines, names of personal items, telling the time, day and month. Doing groceries, food vocabulary.
