Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- describe the opportunities, operators and networks in the business environment*
- define the functions, processes and IT systems of an organization
- define the core and supporting processes of an organization
- apply the concept of value chain and customer driven value creation in process development
- assess the financial and operational performance of logistics as part of the supply chain management

Location and time

At Leppävaara campus during day time and partly virtual. We start the study unit on Monday 7th September.

After completing this study unit the student is able to:

Processes goals and contents:
Customer value based process management is essential to efficient operations and profitability of any modern organisation. In order to remain competitive, the companies must continually thrive at improving their processes and balancing the three key process variables: quality, time and costs.
After this course you will be able to describe the core and supporting processes of an organisation and to understand how the processes, functions and systems are linked to each other. You will also learn to use Arter software for process analysis.

Logistics goals and contents:
The target is to to understand the impact of supply chain management as part of marketing strategy and to be able to assess the performance of logistics as part of the supply chain.

Logistics part consists of an exam and exercises, individual working. 3 cr.

There is also a company related assignment as a team work which combines these two parts: processes and logistics and includes RDI. 4 cr.
