Alternative completion methods of implementation
[Leave the text below as it is. If needed, enter text here regarding other alternative completion methods.]
According to the degree regulations (2024), Students are entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning regardless of where, when and how the competence has been acquired. ... At Laurea, there are two different procedures for the recognition and accreditation of prior learning: a) accreditation of prior learning (competence acquired in higher education studies at another institution) and b) demonstration of competence (competence acquired in other ways). The recognition and accreditation of prior learning is initiated by the student themselves. The student is responsible for demonstrating and verifying their competence. The student is entitled to guidance for the recognition and accreditation of their competence. Further information in the student intranet.
You may also assess work-based learning as a way to acquire the competence needed. Read more in the student intranet.
Co-operation with working life and/or RDI
[Use this field to describe the project/venture cooperation and other cooperation carried out with workplaces. Remember to mark the partner project tag.
The contents of this data field are used to monitor the implementation methods and the realisation of the strategic objectives. Filling in this field does not substitute for the need for the PRM entry.]
Important dates
[Don't unnecessarily repeat the teaching schedule here. If the implementation has meetings with mandatory attendance, justify them here.]
Based on the degree regulations (2024), the student accepted for the implementation is required to confirm their participation by showing activity at the start of the study in the following way:
[Instructions: choose either option 1 (ready text to be used) or option 2, where you enter the way of showing activity yourself]
[Option 1:] In order to demonstrate activity, the student must be present at the first contact lesson or notify the teacher in charge of their absence to confirm their participation in the study. Registration will be rejected if the student does not report their absence at the start of the study or the reason for the absence cannot be considered justified. Another student can be taken in their place. The first contact lesson is [insert date].
[Option 2] In accordance with the degree regulations (2024), those who have been accepted for the study unit must confirm their participation [state the method, e.g. presenting in the discussion area; action may be required within a week of the start of implementation]. If the student does not confirm participation by acting in this way, his registration for the implementation will be rejected and another student can be taken in their place.
Forms of internationality
[Use this field to describe the possible realisation of internationality in the study unit (e.g. international partners).
The contents of this data field are used to monitor the implementation methods and the realisation of the strategic objectives. Leave the text if it applies:] The study unit is suitable for exchange students.
Student workload
Workload of the study is measured in a way that to acquire the goal competence of the study, one credit corresponds to an average of 26.7 hours of work done by the student. The actual time needed varies e.g. according to prior competence.
[You can evaluate the student’s time management in different assignments. A tool for calculating the workload is available in the “Implementations” menu of the teacher’s desktop in Peppi.]
Content and scheduling
[Describe the content by using the vocabulary used in the world of work. Note that if the implementation is part of open UAS studies, this field will act as the marketing text in the online shop. Eg. if you are teaching the basics of programming, tell also which language you are teaching. From this field you should be able to find same words, which are being used in job postings. The field will be used in a service using AI to match studies, jobs and personal competences. ]
