Teaching methods
This study unit is the entrance examination study unit for the Global Health and Crises Management Master's degree.
The study unit is completed independently following a schedule for returning assingments / by a given deadline. Self-direction is required. The study unit does not include meetings or working in pairs or groups. You will study in a Canvas learning environment which includes learning material and assingments/tests. You will not receive individual feedback for assignments: feedback is based on checking the accuracy of the assignments and giving out model answers after the assignments have been returned. We will have group interviews in the beginning of May 2026.

This study unit integrates both theoretical foundations and practical applications of global health management, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of concepts and hands-on strategies to address health challenges worldwide.

This study unit emphasizes international collaboration and the use of diverse learning materials, fostering cross-cultural perspectives and equipping students with resources to address global health challenges effectively.
Student workload
Workload of the study is measured in a way that to acquire the goal competence of the study, one credit corresponds to an average of 26.7 hours of work done by the student. The actual time needed varies e.g. according to prior competence.
Content and scheduling
This study unit is intended to provide essential knowledge and skills required for success in the dynamic field of global health management. Participation is encouraged for both professionals seeking to enhance expertise and newcomers aiming to make a meaningful impact. Upon successful completion, eligibility to apply for the degree program in Global Health and Crisis Management will be granted. The study unit, together with the degree program, offers a strong foundation for pursuing a rewarding career in Global Health and Crises Management.

Evaluation methods and criteria
This study unit is evaluated according to the European Qualification Framework 7 -level (master's degree).
Before starting the study unit, familiarize yourself with the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in this study unit. Note, that Laurea uses plagiarism detection software for all submitted assignments, and recognizes plagiarized, AI generated and AI modified text. If misuse of AI is suspected it can lead to disqualification of the study unit.
Assessment criteria, fail (0)
All staff and students of Laurea are expected to adhere to good scientific practices, which includes appropriate referencing. Familiarise yourself with the practices and, if needed, ask for more information. All study assignments are to be done as individual work unless otherwise instructed.
Turnitin plagiarism checking will be used to check the use of AI and plagiarism.
