Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- Apply their knowledge to define the standards of health care technology and analyse the needs behind healthcare technology problem and suggest standards to cover gaps and provide solutions in healthcare technology applications
- Identify the difference between standards, guidelines and protocols and discover ways of developing or using technological systems and methodologies to apply standards in healthcare
- Discover the fundamental concepts of health data classification and its significance in healthcare and evaluate different health data classification systems, terminologies, and coding standards
- Utilise proficiency in using widely adopted health data classifications and explain the principles of standardised exchange formats for health data
- Contrast the challenges and opportunities associated with health data interoperability, reuse and exchange and analyse real-world healthcare scenarios to determine appropriate health data classifications and exchange formats
- Apply best practices in health data classification and exchange to improve healthcare data management and analysis, as well as business creation
