Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- critically assess research-based knowledge in their own field
- select appropriate methods for research-based development work and justify their choices
- collect data as a basis for research-based development work and analyze it
- interpret the results of research-based development work and draw conclusions based on them
- conduct research-based development work in accordance with data protection legislation, good scientific practices, and data management models
- communicate in situations required for research-based development work and to produce a research-oriented text

Lectures and Workshops in Teams(virtual studies)

Student workload
Total number of hours based on CR given is 135; this means approximately 10 hours of work every week, online sessions etc. included
Content scheduling
• What research is and what kind of research is carried out at universities, universities of applied sciences and companies, etc. and what differences and similarities do they have
• Systematic research process and its stages:
• Consideration and selection of the topic
• Formulation of the research question/ objective
• Critical literature review
• Selection of methods and justifications
• Validity, reliability, and trustworthiness of the research
• Research ethics
• Writing the research plan
• Quantitative and qualitative research and an overview of their most common methods (and one exercise from both types)
