Teaching methods

This is an online course.

Conducted using Zoom live and / already recorded sessions

All Contact sessions are recorded and made available to students by the next day.

Attending the sessions is not compulsory but we recommend it to attend the contact session. You can follow the instructions from recording. If you have questions related to the session which you did not attend then you can ask teachers in the next contact session in the following week.

In the 1st contact session orientation Module 0, there will be a quiz available. Students not answering the quiz will be considered not participating in the study unit, and hence will be rejected from the study unit.

This course Building Webpages R0298 (5 credits) is designed for Laurea bachelor students interested in building a career in marketing or supporting modern marketing function in an organization. The course focuses on WordPress, the most popular Content Management System for websites.

After finishing the course a student is able to:
build a comprehensive website
create customer-focused content to the website and integrate with social media
maintain and update a website
build analytics and SEO capabilities

Along with individual tasks, there will be group tasks and a final project which will be done with other students in a group 3-4 students.

Completion alternatives

According to the degree regulations “all students are entitled to demonstrate their competence. The
recognition and accreditation of prior competence is initiated by the students themselves. The
competence is recognised and accredited by the teacher responsible for the module or study unit or
another person designated by the director of the UAS unit. The assessment is carried out according to the
same criteria and grading scale as that adopted for the corresponding study unit.”

Student workload

The workload of the course is measured as one credit corresponding to an average of 27 hours of work done by the student. The actual time needed varies e.g. according to prior competence.

Active participation in contact sessions is highly recommended.

The total number of student work hours based on 5 ECTS is 135 hours, contact sessions etc. included.
