Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- use planning, analysis and decision-making tools and techniques in strategic planning
- analyze financial statements and business reports and use them as a basis for decisions
- make business decisions in various business contexts
- apply data in decision making

Teaching methods

This study unit is structured for independent completion according to a defined schedule with strict assignment deadlines. While the majority of the coursework is self-directed, one major group project is included. Active self-management and time management are essential. There are a few scheduled lectures are organized.

To finish the study unit successfully, you need to complete

* Three assignments (More details about the assignment can be found on the assignment pages.)
* one quiz assignment (5 points)
* Earn a badge assignment (5 points)
* Two document submission assignments. (20 points)
* A multiple choice examination of 30 points.
* Project Task using the tool Power-BI (40 points)

** Learning Environment and Tools:
Course content and assignments are hosted on the Canvas learning platform, supplemented by activities in Teams and SAS certification environments. These platforms provide access to additional certifications and courses that are highly valued in professional settings and are thus integrated into this study unit.

**Guidance and Support:
Instructional support is provided through Canvas. The instructor may be contacted via Canvas messaging, email, or discussion boards. It is essential to actively monitor Canvas for course announcements and to thoroughly read all posted instructions and guidance.

** Feedback and Assessment:
Individual feedback will not be provided. Instead, performance will be assessed based on the scores obtained from certification, modules and tests.
Feedback on the Final Assignment will be delivered through the Evaluation Criteria Chart (Rubrics) shown in the project task in CANVAS, indicating the level of understanding and execution demonstrated by you.
The final course evaluation will be completed by the end of December.

analytics can inform and enhance decision-making processes in organizations.
2. Develop competencies in leveraging tools like Power BI to analyze data, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights. This course will
teach you how to use tools like Power BI to analyze and visualize data, helping you turn numbers into clear, useful information.
3. Maintain adherence to privacy policies and GDPR guidelines to ensure ethical data handling practices. You’ll also learn how to handle data
safely, following important privacy rules like GDPR, and make sure you're using data responsibly and ethically.

** According to the degree regulations (section 18) “students must be present in the first contact session or notify the teacher in charge if they cannot attend. If they fail to notify the teacher of their absence in the first contact session, their enrolment will be rejected. Another student in the queue may be enrolled in the study unit in the place of the absent student.”**
