The student is able to
- analyse the pathogenesis of infectious diseases
- analyse and implement infection surveillance data in infection prevention
- implement epidemiological tools in infection prevention and outbreak management

Teaching methods

The student is able:
• to analyze symptoms, transmissions and spread of infectious
diseases
• to enhance preparedness, surveillance, and response to
infectious disease outbreaks
• to analyze, implement and communicate surveillance data in
infection prevention and control
• to critically assess contextual influences on infectious disease
management

1 e-tivity: Definition for Epidemiology. By 23rd January 2023.
2 e-tivity: Basics of Outbreak. By 9th Feb 2023.
3 e-tivity: Outbreak report. By 28th Feb 2023.
4 e-tivity: Research table and quality of reporting epidemiological studies. By 31st March 2023.
5 e-tivity: Public health emergency preparedness. By 30th April 2023.
6 e-tivity: Syndromic surveillance plan in migrant centers. By 12th May 2023.

Workshop 17th February 2023 at Tikkurila Campus. Compulsory presence at the workshop = 8 hours.

Student workload

Individual work by completing e-tivities 125,5 hours. Outbreak management workshop 8 hours.
