This course material can be studied individually in your own learning pace. Accepted students will get information regarding start during December.

Teaching methods

This course has two parts: IDM certificate and company hackathon. Note that students can start accomplishing certificate immediately after accepted to the course (January 2022). The hackathon will be organized later spring 2022. All accepted students will be informed about course schedule later. This course is in English.

Digital marketing in social media channels is an important part in company's marketing and sales. In this study unit students will learn how social media is used in company's marketing and sales in a real life. Students will study online IDM social media course and achieve credits by accomplishing IDM Professional Certificate in Social Media (theidm.com). The value of the certificate is £995, but it does not cost anything for the students. This is a great opportunity in the spring 2022.

We have company partners in this study unit. Students will create a social media marketing plan for one of the partners. At the end of course there will be a hackathon where students will compete each other and the best pitch of the marketing plans will be awarded.

Please note this course an advanced marketing course. We expect you have a solid understanding of social media marketing and maybe have some experience in digital marketing in real life context. This is for those who have accomplished their mandatory marketing courses earlier.

In order to achieve the IDM Professional Certificate in Social Media student need to study 7-8 hours time per week. It is mandatory to follow this learning pace because the social media plan for company is created during the online course.
