Learning outcomes

The student is able to:
- understand and interpret meanings of different cultural behaviors and phenomena
- apply cross-cultural knowledge to improve intercultural encounters
- work effectively in multicultural teams and work environments
- resolve intercultural conflicts in a professional manner

Teaching methods

The study unit is a fully online study in an asynchronous mode (no attendance required on specific times. The learning environment is Laurea Canvas.
The study unit includes a R&D based project for a real work-life partner.
Counselling and communication in Canvas.

Employer connections

Erasmus project for media literacy and critical thinking.

Exam schedules

There will be weekly assignments during weeks 36 - 50. Allocate weekly around 7-10 hours in your calendar for the online assignments to be done individually or as team work.

International connections

Exchange students welcomed.
All assignments and the project will promote intercultural skills.

Completion alternatives

According to the degree regulations “all students are entitled to demonstrate their competence. The recognition and accreditation of prior competence is initiated by the students themselves. The competence is recognised and accredited by the teacher responsible for the module or study unit or another person designated by the director of the UAS unit. The assessment is carried out according to the same criteria and grading scale as that adopted for the corresponding study unit.” For further information visit Link.
