Learning outcomes
The Student is able to
- explain the main psychiatric disorders and the medical grounds for care
- explain the mechanisms of the most common intoxicants
- explain the operating principles of mental health and substance abuse nursing
- support clients who are experiencing an acute crisis and are acutely ill
- plan, maintain and evaluate professional interaction in care relationship with mental health or substance abuse clients and their significant others
- plan, implement and evaluate pharmacological therapies for mental health and substance abuse patients
