Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- explain basic concepts of chemistry
- classify substances as pure substances, compounds or mixtures
- recognise strong and weak bonds, and understand their significance, eg to the phase of the substance
- recognise the most common functional groups of basic carbon compounds and their importance for the properties of compounds
