Toteutustapa

SELECT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STUDY GROUPS: A) ONLINE STUDIES OR B) PROJECT STUDIES.
A) For ONLINE studies, all studying takes places independently online, following a course structure in Optima - learning environment. The studies are self-paced, you can enroll on any semester and get evaluated at end of semester.
B) For PROJECT studies, student will conduct development project at Laurea Digital Living Lab, Leppävaara. Studies require active participation in customer projects in teams. The coaching is available weekly, on Monday afternoons 14-17 in room 247. This way of studying requires entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude and collaboration skills. Project studies have two parts: 1) development project for customer and 2) 10-page theory report.
Purpose of 1) is to get students familiar with the practical work done in digital service development and marketing projects in companies. Purpose of 2) is to get students familiar with academic writing and content production. Both of these are planned to increase the skills in demand by companies and hence employability of Laurea graduates.

B) Project studies requires team work and regular participation to project coaching sessions at Laurea Digital Living Lab Leppävaara -campus in Espoo, details above.

For PROJECT & SPRINT studies, the group work is real-life digital development project for Laurea's customers&partners. Also, student entrepreneurship can be supported if student wants to advance business idea (e.g. ecommerce as sales agent for external company). We aim to develop Laurea-level digital capabilities and agile way of working as well.

Study unit is suitable for exchange students. International projects are supported based on availability via our partner school network and RDI-projects.

Customer, team member and coaches agree that deliverables to customer’s assignment are mostly in satisfactory level.
B) THEORY REPORT, INDIVIDUAL WORK
Grades 1-2:
Student shows that s/he has a basic understanding of the topic but there are some shortcomings in deeper understanding.

FOR PROJECT STUDIES:
A) PROJECT WORK FOR CUSTOMER (group work. students’ grades inside team may vary based on individual contribution)
Grades 3-4:
Customer, team member and coaches agree that deliverables to customer’s assignment are mostly in good level. Way of working has been collaborative.
B) THEORY REPORT, INDIVIDUAL WORK
Grades 3-4:
Student shows a good understanding of the issue. (S)he has most likely searched about the topic in addition to the course material and is capable to refer to additional findings.

A) PROJECT WORK FOR CUSTOMER (group work. students’ grades inside team may vary based on individual contribution)
Grade 5:
Customer, team member and coaches agree that deliverables to customer’s assignment are in professional level. Way of working has been collaborative and constructive. Digital Living Lab has gained common assets for other projects.
B) THEORY REPORT, INDIVIDUAL WORK
Grade 5:
Student shows holistic understanding of the topic. (S)he has searched about the topic in addition to the course material and is capable to refer to additional findings. (S)he shows analyzing and critical thinking skills and adds insightful opinions to the topic.
