Teaching methods

Project implementation mode: the project will be carried out as a P2P project in cooperation with the company

Project content: Market Research and Go-to-Market Plan, footwear market, target market Japan

The aim of the project is to conduct a market research and go-to-market plan for a footwear brand. The company manufactures ecological footwear respecting the Finnish handicraft traditions, and this image of ecological-Finnishness-handicraft production is believed to be strong among the Japanese customers. The company has a long tradition in the Finnish footwear production and market for almost 100 years. The strategic goal of the family company is to become even stronger as an international supplier in its own strong product segments utilizing digitalization. This means investing in digitalization, e-commerce, digital marketing, supply chain management and monitoring. Before technical implementations of e-commerce or digitization projects, a market research of the Japanese export market has to be carried out. This means benchmarking of the competitors in the Japanese footwear market, creation of potential buyer profiles, defining sales channels, and also a go-to-market plan. Welcome to carry out this market research around a concrete and exciting product!
