Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- make a preliminary assessment on patients in emergency care
- plan and suggest methods for the examination, observation and maintenance of the vital functions of patients in emergency care in a patient-centred nursing and taking into account the needs of special groups (the elderly, internal medicine patients, neurological patients, surgical patients, child patients and psychiatric patients)
- assess and anticipate the vital functions and possible changes to the vital functions of patients in emergency care
- document and report on the status and care of a patient in emergency care
- plan and apply methods for the guidance and psychological support of patients in emergency care and their family
- apply the key principles of telephone guidance in emergency care
- apply the key methods of interaction and consultation in the emergency care environment
- describe and plan multidisciplinary network cooperation in the emergency care environment
- describe the development needs for the care and service paths of patients in emergency care and plan evidence-based nursing procedures to improve the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of emergency patient care
- critically analyse and develop one's own competence and ability to act as a nurse in the emergency care
- describe ethical problems and act according to ethical principles in the emergency care environment
