Learning outcomes

The student is able
- to produce added value for his/her customers in e.g. an online store
- to assess the effects of procurements, the supply chain and sales on the profitability of the organisation
- to utilise and draw up instruments and tools for the management of a supply chain
- to take into account different customer relationships and adjust the supply chain's activities so they meet with the customers' needs
- to utilise information on customer needs and demand volumes in procurements
- to take into account the typical characteristics of exports in logistics

Teaching methods

The study unit is an online study unit including working in Optima learning environment: exercises and assignments as an individual and team work.

In order to learn more about sustainable supply chain management the study unit has a virtual business simulation game part played in teams which combines sales, purchasing, finance and supply chain management with the circular economy.

Location and time

The study unit will start on Thursday 10th September with a zoom session and ends by mid December.

Content and scheduling

The study unit consists of two parts:

5 cr of this study unit contains theory about Sales, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management as decision making areas for profitable business, online working.

5 cr of this study unit contains a business simulation game. Circular Economy Game Blue Connection is used on this study unit where the concept of Circular Economy is combined with the decision making in a company. One of the targets of this study unit is also to give you an opportunity for experiential learning.
