Learning outcomes

Students learn:
- criminology and the fundamentals of crime prevention
- to use different risk assessment methods to identify and assess crime risk
- to work with the organisation and stakeholders
- to draw up a plan to develop crime prevention

Teaching methods

Campus: Laurea Leppävaara
Main location for implementation: At the campus, although the group work needs to be done in real life environment, thus students are expected to spend time for example in shopping centres, railway station and other publicly accessible areas.

Before enrolling to this study unit, you should have adequate competence level of safety, security and risk management, which you can acquire for example by completing study unit: Business Continuity Planning 5 credits or Basics of Corporate Security and Risk Management 10 credits.
