The student is able to
- use the fundamental syntax and building blocks of programming languages
- plan, implement and test small-scale programs in accordance with the best practices of programming

Teaching methods

Contact sessions (2,5 hours / session) are based on guided workshops with the following format:
- Teacher's lecture to present the session's topics (30 mins)
- Hands-on programming exercises (2 hours)

Further information for students

During this course students will learn the fundamentals of programming in a practical approach. Guided workshops will lead students to implement programs that use a varied amount of programming constructs. Although the programming language used in this course is Java, the principles learned in this course are also applicable to many other programming languages

Evaluation methods and criteria

Two exams. The first one covering the first half of the course. The second one covering the second half of the course
