Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- understand the effects of organizational culture and behavior on performance and productivity,
- carry out an organizational analysis for a change program,
- discover the meaning of why leaders do what they do instead of focusing on what and how,
- understand the importance of intercultural and crisis communication in change situations
- apply strategic perspective into organizational and individual performance
Teaching methods
Learning objectives of the study unit: Student is able to understand the effects of organizational culture and behavior on performance and productivity; carry out an organizational analysis for a change program; discover the meaning of why leaders do what they do instead of focusing on what and how; understand the importance of intercultural and crisis communication in change situations; apply strategic perspective into organizational and individual performance.
Contents: Organizational culture; understanding behavior; leading change; crisis communication; personal leadership.
Implementation: On Laurea Leppävaara Campus; lecturing, expert lectures;
Learning assignment: Will be introduced at the beginning of the course.
Tutoring and communication: Face-to face and via Optima.

Student´s learning assessment is based on individual and team assignments. No traditional exam.
The schedule for visiting lecturers will be announced at the beginning of the course. Attendance on those lectures (visiting lecturers) is compulsory.

Content scheduling is done together with the student group at the beginning of the study unit.
Inbetween the study days students are expected to work independently or in teams. If needed, coaching is provided outside the actual study days.
