Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- evaluate tutoring from the perspective of their own campus and the campus's educational responsibilities
- provide guidance and advice to new students with regard to Laurea's practices and operational culture
- aware of and have a command of the systems currently in use
- create an expertise profile for themselves and can support new students in building an expertise profile in the kyvyt.fi portal
- know the learning environments on their campus and can, when necessary, represent the campus at different events
- have a command of the work methods related to career planning and are able, together with the teacher tutor, to support new students in themes related to career planning
- act as active promoters of well-being within the workplace and among students
Teaching methods
Training sessions are held on Campus. Tutor training is arraged in co-operation with Laureamko. Laureamko arranges tutor camp (over night), international tutor trainig session and meetings for responcible tutors. Tutors will also take part in entrance exams days and other events during training semester. In order to be a tutor it is critical that you are present on orientation days in August 2020. Some of the training sessions are held together with the English tutor group and some separately.
Tutors from degree groups are asked to enroll to parallel Tutoring in english.

If you are interested in tutoring online students (BIT online) you can also enroll to this study. Concerning your own situation we can plan the execution of the tutoring training.
Important dates
Meetings in spring 2020, helping in entrance exams, planning tutoring with teacher tutors and orientation days in August 2020.
Tutoring can not be completed without taking part in tutoring on orientation days.
